About Mr. V

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for checking out my teacher page. My name is Anthony J. Valvo and I am proud to be Our Lady of Fatima's Physical Education and Health teacher for the 2011-2012 school year.

While this is my first year teaching physical education and health classes, I have been substituting around Beaver County for six years. I was a substitute teacher for Our Lady of Fatima since 2004 and also worked at St. Titus School in Aliquippa, St. John the Baptist in Monaca, Mount Gallitzin Academy in Baden, and Sts. Peter and Paul in Beaver. I also worked for Sylvan Learning Center in Monaca until it closed a few years ago. I was a graduate from Hopewell High School in 1999 and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2004 with a Batchelors' Degree in Education.

I am very active outside of teaching. I enjoy being involved in physical activities such as football, hockey, and volleyball. I am a Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoy watching sporting events held in the city.

My family life is extremely important to me. My wife Angelina and I have been married for six years and we have a five-year old daughter. We live in Center Township.

Outside of teaching, I am part of the St. Joseph the Worker council for the Knights of Columbus (where my father is actually the Grand Knight). I also have many hobbies, one of which is writing a weekly column called "From the Desk of Mr. V" on Wrestleview.com. I wrote columns for Wrestleview since 2009, and it has been a successful column for the site.

My lesson plans will focus on following directions, showing respect to others, and promoting teamwork through Christian values. Each lesson that I plan in both physical education and health will involve at least one standard in the Curriculum Guidelines from the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
